5 Podcasts To Check Out In Lockdown

I’m sure you’ve heard all the talk of getting rid of the quarantine on the news. I’m not sure even if stores open again people will be 100% back to normal.  I think there will be a lot of homebodies thru at least the summer. We need to be cautious and ease into things.  While we are waiting to life to resume as normal,  here are five podcast that I love to listen to.  I hope you will find them as interesting as I do.

1. Astonishing Legends. This podcast looks at strange and unique events from history.  Some things you have heard of, others are more obscure.  Each will definitely give you plenty to talk about with friends.

2. Gone. The gone podcast discusses things lost from history.  Past subjects have included Amelia Earhardt, The Amber Room, DB Cooper and Ghengis Kahn’s grave.  Of course like “Astonishing Legends” they also look for obscure items or people too.

3.Natural Disasters. It’s easy to guess what this podcast is all about.  This podcast covers such things as the San Francisco Earthquake of 1906, the Tsunami of 2004, and the eruption of Krakatoa (1883) and more .  They try to use as many first sources as they can, in some instances speaking with the people who were actually there.

4. Noble Blood. This podcasts takes a look at the infamous, scary, and unstable royals and noblemen who have populated our history.  For instance, Countess Elisabeth Bathory, who is famous for bathing in the blood of a minimum of 650 servant girls to keep her young. Yup, this woman even made it into my high school and university history texts.  She was that evil.

5. They Walk Among Us.  This is an award winning true crime podcast from the UK. Expertly researched and narrated this podcast dives into some of the Uk’s most notorious and interesting crimes in history.

Do you have some favorite new podcasts to recommend? I’d love to hear about them!  I’m always interested in finding new great podcasts.
